In 1945 Jack Barton established the first JB Cleaners on Western Avenue near Downtown Los Angeles. He possessed an exceptional work ethic and a personal attention to detail, saying "If I wouldn't wear it, you wouldn't wear it." Word of his workmanship spread among Hollywood studios, which depended on JB for a consistently stellar wardrobe. Being minutes from the famed Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire Blvd, Jack began servicing some of Hollywood's elite, including Judy Garland, Bette Davis, Rock Hudson, Joan Crawford, Dean Martin, Gene Barry, Richard Burton, Martha Raye, Sugar Ray Robinson, and a score of others. Everyone loved Jack and he became the 1st call for Hollywood wardrobe service. |

In 1963, son Bernie began working with his father and opened an additional JB French Cleaners in West Hollywood. Building on the established JB name he developed an exclusive delivery route to the homes of Hollywood's finest. Some of his lifelong friends and clients are Johnny Mathis, Liz Taylor, Rock Hudson, Johnny Carson, Goldie Hawn, Jerry Lewis, William Shatner, Peter Falk, Sammy Davis Jr., Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Gabor Szabo, Joan Collins, Lily Tomlin, Don Johnson, Melanie Griffith, George Hamilton, Candace Bergen, Michael Crichton, Sidney Sheldon, Jim Carrey, Vanessa Williams, Charlize Theron, the Osbournes, and more. In 1978, Bernie expanded into servicing hotels with Severyn Ashkenazy, becoming the exclusive cleaners to the L'Hermitage, Le Dufy, Mondrian, Bel Age, Le Parc, Valadon, Le Reve, and Cezanne hotels. He has exclusively cleaned for the Beverly Hills hotel for over 20 years as well as many other elite hotels in Los Angeles. |

Today, JB French continues to be family owned and operated by the Bartons with Headquarters in Culver City. Adhering to the foundation laid by Jack Barton, JB French still stands by the same exemplary service and attention to detail that continues to make them a success.
